LG enV2 aka VX9100
Pictures have been leaked out of the possible LG enV2, successor to hugely popular LG VX9900 aka LG enV, the phone that was very popular due to very easy messaging functionality through the Laptop styled keyboard. Then LG released LG Voyager VX10000, which was believed to be the successor to enV. However, recent leaked pictures have confirmed that the successor to it would be VX9100 aka LG enV2. The handset would be available exclusively through Verizon cellular network.
The handset continues with the legacy of the original enV, with the dedicated QWERTY keypad under the hood, but takes one-step more by providing a secondary external screen, which can be used to do basic operations like picking calls, messaging through the alphanumeric keys and other operations like voice recording. Inside it features a touch sensitive screen of unknown dimension surrounded by two speakers on each side. The display is said to be QVGA with 240×320 resolution. The phone has the adopted hinge design, seen popularly in notebook computers. This gives it a sturdy feel; however, it seems that the light weighted ness of the device would be compromised by incorporating this design. The newer model would come in two colors- Maroon and Black, which was featured on the previous model too. The mobile would also feature a direct USB port through which you would be able to charge the phone too. This would come as a relief to many people who, after loosing the custom LG chargers, have to look for the similar charger, as they are hard to find. The handset also has microSD card slot on the left hand side, which could be used to extend the memory of the handset upto 8GB. The buttons are big and very effective for people with big thumbs. The handset however, features the 2.5mm connector as opposed to the in vogue 3.5mm headphone connectors, which are becoming very common these days.
The camera is also said to be upped to 2-megapixel sensor as compared to the 1.3megapixel sensor in the original old model. Though it is fixed focus camera, which means that the quality of the pictures would be just okay!
The handset has a very small matchbox styles external display, which though is too small for any major use, but works just fine for receiving calls and occasional messaging, when you do not want to open the flap for messaging.
The handset is soon to be announced in Verizon network
