Times Square, New York- The Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championships occurred yesterday, crowning Number One in the World gamer Carlos Daniel Borrego Romero of Mexico with the esteemed winner’s title. Romero beat out 30,000 other Pac-Man maniacs to compete with the international top 10 in NYC for the official release of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Pac-Man Championship Edition. Pac Man, the 27-year old original dot eater and ghost gobbler, was created by the retiring Japanese genius that spawned a generation of arcade game aficionados, Toru Iwatani. The Xbox game release is a tribute to his inventiveness and his final contribution to NAMCO BANDAI Games, Inc.

The new Pac-Man Edition is buffed up with enhanced HD graphics, dynamic new mazes that shape shift during game play, six new timed game modes, new soundtracks and Iwatani’s original style. Starting today, Pac Man fanatics can download the upgraded 80’s game for $10 from Xbox Live online service.

As I wipe the tears from my bleeding, over stimulated eyes, I am left with the nostalgic sentiment, “Waka-Waka-Waka”. Iwatani stated, “It gives me great joy to know that my final contributions in my corporate career were to crown the Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship and to leave the world with an amazing new ‘Pac-Man’ game for generations to enjoy.”
