Asus U3: Ultraportable/Thin-and-light 13.3” Laptop
Asus has released a brand, spanking new, black and shiny 13.3” notebook with leather wrist rest, built to compete with the Apple MacBook and the Sony VAIO CZ.

The Asus U3 weighs in at 3.9 lbs. (with the three cell battery) using an easy-on-the-eyes, movie-viewing screen. This bad boy is comfortable enough as a decent daily work station for long hours spent staring into the vortex of the Internet. Although it doesn’t contain an integrated optical drive, it comes with an included external drive for burning and reading discs. It does hit the professional level with Intel Turbo Memory, 3G wireless, integrated GPS options, fingerprint scanner and Trusted Platform Module for security. Like all higher-end laptops, it uses the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors and Intel GM965 chipset with an additional 128MB Nvidia GeForce 8400M graphics card, HDMI-out port and single memory slot for up to 2560MB RAM.
Pricing and availability is unconfirmed at $2000 with a release date of September.
