MacBook and MacBook Pro get Rumored Upgrades!

Hot off the steam of the Leopard release, the rumors have proven to be true! As of late last night and early this morning, Apple has surreptitiously upgraded both the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines in processor speed and memory.

The black and white MacBooks have finally been bumped up to the Santa Rosa chipset architecture and includes a GMA X3100 video card that usurps the GMA 950 of previous editions and provides you with better graphics processing. Pricing remains in the similar realm of former MacBooks, but the point here is speed and memory. Options are explained in detail on Apple’s website – the low end 13” whitey gets 80GB and 2GHz while the high-end 13” blackie speeds up to 2.2GHz with 160GB.

Not to be outdone by its little sister, the MacBook Pro gets an additional upgrade option on its Core 2 Duo processing speed to 2.6GHz for a few extra Benjamins. If you ran out and bought a newly installed Leopard OS before yesterday, you have 14 days to take it back and get the upgrades. Do your homework, people and don’t complain!
