MSI GX600 : Decent Notebook for Gamers

MSI of Taiwan–the same company who brought us the Swarovski crystal notebook–proposes a new Notebook : MSI GX600.

This notebook, aimed at gamer’s niche, comes equipped with the Turbo Drive Engine which MSI claimed to boost 20% of the performances simply by pressing a button. Pretty standard if you ask me, since most new notebooks have this features (like Sony Vaio’s series with their “Stamina” and “Power” slider).

Other specs including :
- Intel PM965 Express chipset,
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor,
- 2GB RAM at 667MHz (what, no Santa Rosa ?) ,
- Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB VRAM,
- DVD Super Multi,
- 15.4 inches WXGA+ resolution,
- 1.3 MP Webcam
- MS Windows Vista Home Premium

MSI also decorated GX600 with flame-like graphic, so you can brag to your friends that your notebook’s “so hot, it burns”. Comes in two versions : Performance and Extreme, the only difference is that the Extreme’s W,A,S,D buttons are colored, and also nicer visual effect of speakers (I thought speakers are for sounds ?)

Launched at June 5 this year, the MSI GX600 notebooks are now available in Asia. Price is still unknown, though.
