Projectors have been getting progressively smaller and cheaper for some time, as do most home appliances as chips and components become more readily available and cheaper, but miniaturisation such as the size difference from the PS2 v1 to the PS2 v2 usually takes some time to make its way into the home (remember the size of your first microwave oven, and DVD player).

Earth Trek a Hong Kong based company is trying to buck that trend with their recently released 90-805R mini projector, which weighs in at a tiny 160 grams, and measures just 105×58×25mm. The device is small enough to actually fit in your pocket, and whilst you won’t be getting amazing picture quality from the unit, it can display an impressive 22” screen with ease, making it the world’s smallest non-embedded projector.

The Earth Trek has a built in speaker, AV inputs to allow you to stream video from your portable devices such as mobile phones and laptops, and has a trans flash memory card slot, allowing you to connect a larger storage device to the unit and play back large amounts of files, unfortunately the Earth Trek only plays MP4 files, and the battery will only last about two hours, but since the device is portable and projectors are pretty much the most power hungry devices on the planet, we’ll let it slide.
