Solio Hybrid1000: Go-Go-Green Power for Gadgets
Everyone knows that our world is a gigantic environmental mess, but a rare few among us contribute to the betterment of our precious planet. So, what can you do, lovers of electricity? Aside from donating all your creature comforts and electronic gadgets to your local educational institution, run off into the jungle and build a solar-paneled hut to live in peace with nature, you can buy yourself one of these green powered Hybrid1000 devices.

Better Energy Systems, a leading manufacturer of portable, renewable energy products, has unveiled the Solio Hybrid 1000, a cheap and energy efficient device that has the ability to power most of your portable electronics. For $80, you get a waterproof, clip-on-your-key chain (via carabiner) high efficiency solar panel with a large capacity integrated Lithium-Ion battery that features a built-in output cable with varied tips to plug into and power up your cell phones, PDAs, music players and digital cameras. Plus, you have the satisfying knowledge that you are doing your part to save the environment from eventual self-destruction.
The Hybrid1000 is carbon neutral and supports hybrid charging via the sun or any computer’s USB port to recharge its internal battery.

I have one of these clipped on to my backpack and it charges/stores electricity every time I’m bicycling, which is every day. A full Solio charge can take my iPod touch from empty to about 75% full. The best part is not having to remember to charge it. A big plus is being able to charge the Solio via USB, for days when it’s overcast or rainy. Highly recommended.
