Chumby, not a name that evokes a feeling of confidence in a device but I bet you will be saying you want one after you have read this article. Chumby is a touchscreen device which is encased in soft Italian leather in various colours, in its simplest form the Chumby is a fancy alarm clock, but it is oh so much more when you take the time to set it up. You can choose to wake up to a standard alarm or any one of the thousands of audio sources available to the Chumby via its Wi-fi connection, which includes internet radio, but your choices don’t stop at audio, why not wake up to your daily horoscope, sports scores, humour or news, whatever gets you up and ready in a morning, Best of all you can set an infinite number of alarms on the Chumby, so you can get it ready to report the latest sports scores to you just after you get home from work, or maybe report on the traffic just before you leave in the morning.

If you have a Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket, Facebook, or MySpace account then your Chumby can be used as a digital photo frame displaying any number of photographs, better still you can share photos with your Chumby owning friends, and the features don’t stop there with games, auctions, classifieds, email and social networking all catered for, and more features are in development for the Chumby network, which is totally 100% FREE.

Chumby is available for around $179.95 from www.chumby.com, and only plugs into an AC outlet, consuming less power than a clock on a microwave – I want one!
