Oh, what a happy Independence Day it is! DVD Jon, an infamous encryption hacker, has published a sneaky little tool to make the iPhone usable as a music player and WiFi connection without activation. Although DVD Jon has yet to crack the iPhone for complete use as a phone, we are certain it will only be a matter of minutes, hours or, at most, a few days until the iPhone is cracked for use without registering with AT&T over iTunes.

The SIM card in the iPhone can be removed simply but you cannot replace it with another SIM card, for some reason. Stay tuned for further dismantling of iPhone security mechanisms in the coming days.
