The Philips Luxe

For quite a while now our mobile phones have been becoming more and more sophisticated and feature packed, evolving from simple communication devices to also containing cameras, music players and even fully fledged mini PC’s capable of running applications.
Now Philips has decided to try something different by launching a music player that takes features from a mobile phone. The Luxe MP3 player has all of the standard features you would expect from a portable music player, although since its primary function is a music player you might have expected them to put a little more effort in on this end, as the device only features a 2GB memory, a one line LCD screen and a mere 10hours of playtime.
The Luxe’s party trick is that it is a fully functioning Bluetooth headset, which will sync with your similarly Bluetooth enabled phone allowing you to listen to your tunes until a call arrives, at which point the player will pause your track to enable you to talk to the caller, just make sure you aren’t singing along to something really embarrassing when you get a call from your boss. The Bluetooth headset feature has 100 hours standby and an FM radio.
The Luxe will be available later this year and will be approx £60, oh and did I mention it looks all pretty like a jewel – the perfect Christmas present for that special lady in your life!
