Are you ready for the challenge of Pac-Txt? Be prepared for a task that requires a breezy mixture of semi-intelligence and curious patience. Guaranteed to geek you out for at least 20 minutes.

As you can see from the above screenshot, i was able to conquer the beastly ghosts and glowing dots. My score was 6120 and I didn’t die once. It goes without saying that all computer-addicted children of the 80’s are going to love this game.

Web programmer Richard Moore answers the question “Why would anyone invest the time and effort to build such a useless game?” in the help window on the Pac-Txt site, where you’ll also find a few other goodies rewarding you for being a persistent player. If you snoop around the source code you’ll find out what “itadakimasu!!” (or Japanese for “let’s eat”) commands.
