The Big Cat Purrs: Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard Officially Released

We’ve been waiting for a long time for this one and finally, without question, we have the authority to report that the release date for Apple’s new Operating System will be released, as rumored, on Friday, October 26th at 6pm at all Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers. Leopard can be pre-ordered today for $129 from Apple’s website and, for the price of the upgrade, buyers receive free shipping. Wow, thanks Steve, free shipping!

Mr. CEO of Apple said, “”Leopard, the sixth major release of Mac OS X, is the best upgrade we’ve ever released and everyone gets the
‘Ultimate’ version, packed with all the new innovative features.”

The 316 ‘innovative features’ include a brand new interface, Stacks (stackable items in your dock to keep the desktop clean), Time Machine (an automatic file backup system), presets for backdrops that can be used with iChat and Photo Booth to photograph yourself in places you aren’t, Quick Look (to view full-page files without opening them), to name just a few.
